Airsoft vs Infared

Post by Ragnar »

Afternoon gents,
Being new here and to tanks in general I’m curious as to the workings of Infared systems. We all know how the Airsoft system works but what about Infared, the How they work ,what’s entailed in setting it up, cost etc. seems quite popular with many clubs having tank battles with other clubs /Groups even Nationwide.
What’s your preference?

Larry.

It is really a matter of personal preference, but for me I like the realism of IR and recoil with flash.

" bet that bb can take your eye out kid"

Just my preference.
Tanks alot....

Much prefer the barrel recoil I saw on the IR equipped tigers, bit more realistic imho.
And I am under the impression that with the IR system installed the airsoft B.B. gun was disabled, this is incorrect??

Good morning!
You can have Airsoft and Recoil but no IR in the Taigen Tigers. This is based on a system designed by one of our own here on the forum, SaxonDog ( who is involved with Field of Armor now I think? ) For my personal preference, I am leaning heavily towards flash and recoil just for the realism. I do have built tanks that are still Airsoft. The 'Mood' and 'Maxene' come to mind. They will remain so because it is fun to wing a glowing airsoft round out and occasionally hit the target ;o) The newer Taigen airsoft that fires and recocks without that wind up noise is much to be preferred.

Good morning,
It is the airsoft unit that Taigen puts in their airsoft with recoil Tiger turrets. It cocks instead of winding up to fire. They should do that for all of their tanks. Size constrant issue I reckon.

Thinking I would much prefer the flash and barrel recoil to the IR which I’m sure would entail joining a tank korp/club of similar minded folks to get any benefit from it And having belonged to a train club for a goodly number of year I’m well aware of the politics and infighting that can bring about. on the other hand chatting up a bunch of like minded folks on a internet website such as ours here is much much more enjoyable and relaxing.
And after that I can go play with myself. :haha:

Just think how good it would be to have both IR and BB in one setup. 8O ???
Wouldn't that be good. A muzzle flash with barrel recoil as a BB was fired and an IR signal emitted. o-
All you would want then was for a puff of smoke from the barrel as it fired !!! ;D
Well, I guess I can always hope. :haha:
Cheers
