Ibu2 pro suitable battle systems
Evening gents
I have fitted my Taigen Tiger 1 with the ibu2 pro board and everything works great. I want to make the tank Tamiya battle compatable and wondering wha my options are. I know I can use a Tamiya battle system but they seem very expensive. One idea that I have but don’t know if it would work is to use the Taigen battle system that I already have. It can be plugged straight into the ibu2 but I am guessing that this would not be Tamiya compatable?
I see that there is a board available on the rc tank electronics website that converts the heng long and taigen battle systems to tamiya compatibility. Could I plug my taigen battle system into this board and then plug the board into the ibu2 heng long I.r port?
Thanks in advance for your help
Glyn

Re: Ibu2 pro suitable battle systems
Glyn, did you buy your IBU2 from Ian (Tankbear) at rctankelectronics?
If you did you will see that he sells all you need to make your tank Tamiya I/r battle compatible,
You presumably know that the IBU2 is already a Tamiya compatible board which has always been one of its selling points.

I think I am about to upset someone

Hi jarndice
I see that Ian sells the vampire unit that seems to be a battle mushroom with an emitter attached??

Re: Ibu2 pro suitable battle systems
Sorry it’s the piranha that looks like a battle mushroom with emitter attached.
If the ibu2 is Tamiya compatable do I just plug in the Taigen emitter and mushroom that came with my tank kit into the ibu2 and it will be Tamiya compatable ? or do I need to buy something else like the piranha from the rc tank electronics website ?

Re: Ibu2 pro suitable battle systems
all modern payments (elmod, ibu, Clark...) have one tamiya protocol.( you only need to connect a fungus not important of what firm. keep in mind that at each firm the raspayka!) you can also make the built-in fighting system
Re: Ibu2 pro suitable battle systems
on a photo all plugs are signed. if you have a payment of IBU of 2 pro.

I love the battle fungus translation egorz!
The easiest way to get battling would be the piranha as that gives intergrated ir emitter and reciver. Next option would be the vampire 2 if you want a hidden battle unit, but you'll still need a separate ir emitter and 6mm tube for it to go in, Ian sells these too.
You can get the tamiya battle units much more cheaply these days and that gives you the apple/mushroom (reciever) and the emitter both have plugs which fit the ibu2.
I hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice guys. I thought the piranha might be an option.
Going back to my previous question. If the board isTamiya compatable . Can I simply plug in my taigen mushroom and emitter to make the tank Tamiya compatable. My thoughts being that if the board is sending out the Tamiya compatable signal then any emitter/mushroom should work?

You can but you won't get hit light indications, your range will be very limited and other people will struggle to hit you as mushrooms very insensitivepercy1510 wrote:Thanks for the advice guys. I thought the piranha might be an option.

Re: Ibu2 pro suitable battle systems
Ok thanks for that. I did try to plug in the taigen system but with no way of testing I couldn’t tell if it works or not. I might go for the piranha system from rctank electronics. One more question....
The piranha has emitter on top of the mushroom so is one unit. If I understand it correctly the emitter has to be inside a piece of brass tube with 6mm of tube in front of emitter so I could add the tubing to the piranha system but if the piranha is plugged into the turret hatch doesn’t that mean that there is no up or down aiming as I thought that the emitter would normally attach to the barrel of the tank so that it was aiming the same way as the barrel is pointing ?
