HL Truck Mods

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

Not any more nonsense than modeling the 007 with all kinds of battle damage that she never really had.

I say without hypocrisy as I see it. and this my opinion. and I have stated it. for this purpose there is also a forum to express, and not only good words. about a tiger 007, try to make Gary better.
gas 66 excellent Russian model. in the childhood I went by it. therefore has told that the model was spoiled. much better she looks in the initial state. IMHO

The "tubbed" chassis would look all the part with a mocked up dirty great Big-Block mid mounted in the tray !! :wtf:
Im not a truck guy, but the sheer variety of mods and concepts that are being made out of what are really humble offerings is mind bending.

The mind set behind some manufacturing decisions also do my head in........

- Truck ?.................make a 6X6 GMC with a soft canopy & be done with it-then watch the cash roll in.
- half track ?.............almost any Sdkfz would do, but a basic version that allows alteration would be smart.

Mr Capri, this build would make an awesome "hot wheels" style concept vehicle, keep going

Thanks, don't worry i will :)
I do think some screws have fallen out however and are rattling around up there causing me to think of unusual RC builds.
But i do love the big block mid mounted idea. Maybe not going to work on this one now, however i want to do another mad max style rat rod with a GAZ truck, so that has given me unusual md inspritation. So thanks again :)

I have also put alot of work into my 6x6 to try and make my own version of a GAZ 34 Prototype. I just used two spare hweel carriers than just one, made a canvas for the back. I was going to sell it on to fund the next build, but actually i think it is too good to sell.

They should look at a half track for sure, i will buy 5 and do mad silly things with some of them haha

First, sorry, Mick, but that was a direct criticism of Will's build. He called it nonsense and gave it two thumbs down and he was not talking about the original truck that came from wpl.

As for the above quote from egorz, without hypocrisy? You built a model of the 007 that was completely inaccurate from a historical perspective. I defy you to find me a single photograph of the 007 in the condition that you depicted it. In essence, you built a nonsense tank, and then you came on this forum as a private and new member and criticized another member's build and called it nonsense. That is the very definition of hypocrisy. I saw your 007 when you first posted it and knew that it was completely inaccurate but I didn't say anything. Criticism like that, and the criticism you threw out to Will belongs on RCU, not here. If you don't have anything nice or constructive to say, keep your mouth shut.
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

HANDBAGS....

Just imagine if old Nobby’s Firefly had missed, that damage could have been highly accurate, if 007 had turned around & given them a good hiding
Just my 2p worth

hold the mouth behind teeth. Also look behind the models, you dont know what to undertake.
I once again will repeat to me the spoiled model wasnt pleasant. thats all. and I for it have told. And the most important that she was pleasant to the owner. that gas 66 of remade isnt enough - look at Ludwig what smart conversion. it is pleasant to look at her. I think on it we will be limited with you communication. the discussion is closed. And on your opinion on a tiger to 007 me to spit. he is pleasant to me. Yes the administrator will forgive me.

Ok ok. You don't need to keep.going on about how you do not like my mad off the wall designed GAZ hot rod.
I personally don't care and know it is not to everyone's liking. Each to our own.

Let's get this thread back to the subject in question I think. Don't worry I have many more of these designs to share. Some scale, some nicely detailed and some spare parts are turned into weird and wacky machines.

Let's keep going guys :)

I've got my ban stick out, and am pre heating the oven to get it nice and warm. Everyone play nice or I'll have to hand out time outs. Remember what your mother told you growing up, IF YOU DON'T HAVE SOMETHING NICE TO SAY DON'T SAY ANYTHING. Moms advice still holds true and if your mother never told you that I JUST DID.

I may not be as active in tanking but I will not have a new member criticized for trying something new.

Now, play nice.
