Panzer III was withdrawn before zimmerit was applied to tanks

Interesting! Was the OP asking if Zim was applied to the Schurtzen?

  :-\
HL Tiger x2 (one that didn't bounce very well!), HL Pz III x2 (one non-smoker); HL Stug III; HL PzIV and want an HL Jagdpanther.

Panzer IV's had zimm on their turret skirts, but zimm on the hull skirts was less common

Andy, Panzer III was removed from service before Zimmerit came in to effect so there would be no reason to add it to Schutzen when the tanks where no longer in service.

Ex Patt, you are correct in your statement but zimmerit wasn't added to all Panzer IV turret schurtzen this was hit and miss, Stug II, IV and Brumbar also had zimmerit added to some schurtzen

Hard to tell like you say with this picture but their is definitly a pattern on their ???  i have read in several places that the PZKFW III AUSF N did have zimmerit applied in about march 1943 but i cant find any mention or any pictures to show zimmerit on the Schurzen :(
