HL Truck Mods

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

Not a tank but a try how to post a video. This is the new project I working on at moment alongside some others :)

I have the same crane,i added a slipring for 360 rotation, modded boom to go all the way down, replaced boom rope with some nice material ill send ya info on that.
After about 1 year my tracks became brittle and fell apart....but tracks from the bruder excavator with bruder sprockets will work.it takes 1 1/2 bruder tracks per side.

I put my crane on a big barge for my 30"tug to push around.
Also added almost 1 lb counter weight in the rear of the cab, added a some 3/8 steel round bar to each side the clam bucket to increase grip.i can lift 1 lb at any angle.stock she can do above half lb before the clam opens on its own.
A very fun crane for the price.

The rope and boom mods sound interesting with extra ballast.
As for the tracks they are not great and could do with replacement as they start to pull off on tight carpet turns

i sent you a few pms,not sure if they went through.....they in my outbox, but not in sent.
also just created a tinkercad file to repair my cracked slipping drive gear problems.after almost 1 year the gear hubs in the gearbox cracked.once i publish the files ill share.

cracked gear hub that lets traction track slip

and my quick solution,a simple slip over hub to close the crack.

are now selling the metal front and rear axles and at a markedly cheaper price than the Chinese Dealer,£37.26 For the pair
Unfortunately the Metal prop shafts which come as a pair which were on pre-order have since sold out for now. £5.95 For a set of two
Shaun.
Yup saw them and i will be ordering a few sets for my M35, but also thinking i may be able to adapt the rear axle into a drive through axle for a 6x6! Lets see, but for now i fully busy on projects!

Got a link for the pair driveshafts? Maybe have to keep eye on them also

I was just thinking ,
Because the Metal Propshafts are sold out they will probably not be displayed until they have been re-stocked on Banggoods site.

Just got this transfer box through the letterbox, 1.5/1 ratio, bearings & steel gears.
Only minor trimming required to fit between the WPL chassis rails. Not bad for £16..

I’ll be driving it with my big block geared motor, luckily I ordered 2, the second should arrive in a few days.
I’ve also got this for £13, 2/1 ratio & steel gears, it’s a little bit too big so would have to go on top of the chassis if used.

Just waiting steel driveshafts now.
Cheers
