What to be aware of when I buy a used Armortek 1/6 Tiger 1?

Feel free to discuss anything and everything to do with tanking here!

I’d probably say he’s tried to do it on the cheap - you really need two decent esc and a benedini to run a big heavy tank correctly.
I definitely agree about the motor controllers (I'm sure you've seen the hetzer and that uses a sabertooth 2x32) but I can see going the Tamiya route back then. As was suggested, the sound may have been better than armortek (was benedini around back then?) or there may have been another function that he wanted, like lights, maybe? I hooked an IBU2 Pro to the sabertooth in the hetzer and use a TPA amp and a couple of good four inch speakers and get great sound, but I also get other cool stuff, like using the IR barrel recoil circuit to pull the trigger on the paintball cannon, and using the elevation servo circuit to provide traverse for the remote MG34 (not truly accurate, since the real thing was hand operated and didn't make much noise, but I like it better than straight servo operation).

And Marco, one thing you should be aware of is how lucky you are that I can't compete with you to buy that tank! @) From what you've said it sounds pretty good so far, and I really hope it works out so you can post lots of photos and videos for me to drool over. 8)
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!
