Shapeways Mato M4 Sherman Spoked idlers

Post by lmcq11 »

Ah, finally, Sherman spoked idlers are starting to be available on Shapeways, starting with the Mato size. Until now, only the roadwheels were available and it was a big gap.

Ah, yes, that's the handiwork of Woz, an esteemed member here! I bought some of his Cromwell bits.

My only problem is the price. Over $100 for 6 plastic roadwheels? Is it just me, or does shapeways charge ridiculous prices?

As I'm slowly learning to appreciate the sherman tank and it's many variants, what versions would these be found on aside from a Lee? Would they be at home on my M4A1 (76) from Mr Lee on the forum?

Or my firefly small hatch sherman?

I'd like to use them for something.

Nice. Now we can stop cannibalizing FOV Shermans. Now we just need a supply of low bustle turrets.

If anyone can create an stl file for these I'll be happy to print them for forum members at cost (maybe $2 worth of plastic for 12 of them?) plus postage. I really want to make this type of thing available to all forum members, without the obscene price that shapeways charges for pieces that they basically pirated the files for anyway.

I guess my offer will be best for U.S. members (due to the high cost of shipping across the puddle) but I have a partner in the UK that can help members there, so if you need something just PM me and we'll get it sorted.
