brummbar i am confused . com ?

Post by mcevoyi »

hi all

i have a small pile of book from may different publishers ..about the brmmbar ...

in a nut shell .. there were 3 models early . mid and late ..... but i have a pic or two of and early brummbar ... with the early gun .and panzer 4 type drivers visor
but fitted with a mid production roof ! .....now i know its a mid production roof becaues there is a forward set of roof doors missing and a slide type periscope mount and a roof vent ...

can any one say .. if between model changes .. the bits thay had left over thay fitted any way ???  or did the tank return to the work shop for a refit and its all thay had ?? .. it just seems hard to explane ...

i hope there is a real track hear out there that nay be able to shed some light ??

I think that if things go back for service/repair they used whatever bits they had handy (especially near the end of the war).

Another thing that used to happen with allied and axis armour was retrofitting of improvements/upgrades when damaged units were sent to the rear for repair after heavy battle damage. As well as a lot of field workshop modifications after minor battle damage. As the war progressed the Germans were less able to salvage damaged armour and were forced to make do and mend with whatever was avalible which resulted in a lot of hybrid tanks with allsorts of diffrent configurations. All the best for now
