RX18 flash unit HELP!!!

I have got a flash unit to add to the RX18 board but when i plug it into the CN3 socket on the board and fire the gun nothing happens   is this because it only works when you have the IR battle system or have i missed something

Not too sure on this one, but would expect it to work with or without the IR unit as it can be purchased seperately? I seem to recall mine was a bit fiddly to fit due to the way the RX18 is fitted into the Jagdpanther. I also know that a muzzle flash can be obtained for free by soldering the led +/- wires directly onto the RX18 board, as well as the RX14 (which I did on my Bulldog). I would check the plug is in the correct socket and seated correctly, if it is then the unit may well be faulty? I am assuming that you have both plugs in situ.
