Re: Profiline Jagdpanther IV conversion
Here's a quick update on my progress.
This is what I came up with to get the barrel elevation to work. I still have to get a decent video up on Youtube. When I do, I'll get a link posted. I cut off the return roller mounts and cleaned up the hull. Just waiting on the replacements to arrive. I also got some replacement fenders built up. The plan is to bend them up a bit, then let them get beat on while running it.
Here's the front fenders down And folded. Now the rear. I used straight dress makers pins cut down for the rivet heads. Also they make a stronger attachment than just the glue. The hinges are soldered onto the copper, then drilled and pins installed. I cut them off at the inner surface and soldered them in place.
Thanks for all the great suggestion and help.

Magnificent barrel system, so beautifully simple

Thanks, Herman. It actually worked better than I thought it would. I used the weight of the barrel to pull it back down. With the shorter arm it really has some travel to it.

Re: Profiline Jagdpanther IV conversion
Here's today's update.
Got the springs on the rear fenders. Worked out the hinge problem. Had to add a couple of pivot points, but the thing will open and close now! Made up the mounts for the rear side armor plates. Last, but not least, here's a link to the video showing the barrel elevation in operation.

More to come.

Re: Profiline Jagdpanther IV conversion
Here ya go, Mick. Hope these make more sense than me trying to explain it!
Here's the inside with both hatches closed. I think the original problem stemmed from the resin hull being so thick. The hinge on the round hatch I just spread out a bit and it works so so, not great, but okay. Here's the inside with the square hatch open. And outside with the hatch open. A few more bits to go, and it'll be ready for paint!
