ElMod Inforamtion. Please read

Post by Yellowshaker »

Ok guys it has come to my attention that some people are saying the ElMod units cannot run DKLM style gearboxes. These boxes are the same as what you get in the Tamiya Leopard 2A6 and the Abrams. ElMOd can and will run these gearboxes. All you do is switch the motor setting in the configurator to BETA version. That is all. I wanted to get he word out because there are some who are saying only Clark and IBU will run them. This is false.

Thanks I was thinking of getting one of these gearboxes for my Jagdpanther and thinking I've read the same but as I really like the Elmod units was disappointed. This is great news and thanks for sharing it and how to set the Elmod to run the gearboxes :).

No Tom. ElMod has been capable for quite a long time, but rumor got out that only the other two units would work. ElMod always seems to get thrown on the back burner by the guys pushing other stuff.

Conjecture on my part but possibly due to dklm not having them listed as having been successfully tested by them on their site

IMHO the main problem with Elmod is the price. Thats why people chooses other brands, even when the Elmod is superior to most of them.

Well I am of the belief that you get what you pay for. I have had many come to me and have a unit installed and then tell me that the difference in price means very little after seeing the difference in performance. But hey, to each his own.

Just for the record, All Clark boards will support DKLM's PDSGB/Clutch type gearbox, but only IBU2U FO and IBU3 will support them. IBU2 and IBU2U Base/IBU2 Pro does NOT support clutch type gerarbox.
