Hi Rob,
Any chance of using the hl truck and making one of these?

As long as the wheelbase isn't any longer than an HL truck, it should be possible, oh, and blueprints of course. It would be fairly easy to do one in styrene, as it is all flat panels.

The wheelbase of the M3A1 is 333cm, which I reckon scaled is 208.125 mm. Overall length 562.6cm which scales down to 351.625mm. I think the front track is 160.7cm or to scale 45.91mm, which seem quite narrow. http://afvdb.50megs.com/usa/scoutcarm3.html

Finally made a 25pdr artillery gun. Haven't successfully managed to create rotating wheels, but it will make a nice diorama piece. Someone asked me to do a gun for them as a static model, it was lucky I decided to print one for this project as I soon discovered that although I had made all of the parts it would have been well nigh impossible to assemble without 5 hands and 27 fingers. A few hours and test prints and I sorted the whole assembly process out.

It has to be said that the quality of the printing is down to the CR-10, and the latest version of Cura. If I had tried this using the printers that I used to have, and the older versions of Cura the finished items would not have been anywhere near this good.

I still had gradient print lines, but a bit of sanding, and a thick coat of lacquer levelled it all off, ready for painting.

I have been looking at doing the limber, but accurate blueprints seem to exist for the Quad and the gun, but not for the missing part. If I can find what I need I'll do one.

Thanks Alwyn, I have no idea where you found those, but they are exactly what I was looking for.

Hey Wibbs, looks like you've got a bit of competition on this side of the puddle. @)

In case you're not familiar with Rex Ross, he's one of the finest scratchbuilders around, and he did all this without a 3D printer. Rex was even the inspiration for the AA Bulldog I made a while back.

In case anyone would like to see more, here's his thread at RCU
