Rccommaned New Battle System

Post by 971wright »

Hi Guys Just seen a new battle system for sale $95. fully tamiya compatable .Have sent a e-mail to Bill for more details about the system ,if it slows when hit and a couple of other questions ,it looks like a cross between a DBC and el-mod ,instead of the sound card with the DBC it has a sound card that uses a SD card so you can load differant sounds on it along with an amp .To my eyes the battle unit looks like a modified DBC (but I could be wrong ) its the sound card that has me going if it is posible to upgrade the DBC that I have fitted to 5 tanks this would be great (  I have asked Bill if it is possible to upgrade the DBC )
Its the price that shocks me $95 for the complete system ready to instal he cant be making much profit on this .

     Regards pete

like the sound of this system, just the SD card, think if I get one of these I'll have to get an SD card reader for my comp, as all my card reading from the camera, mp3 and phone are done via USB leads.

hey this sounds good, the Bulldog already has a Darkith DBC and this might add the finishing flourish.

Hi Guys Bill has sent a reply here it is
Hello Pete,

Thanks for inquiring.  Here are the answers to your questions:

Yes, the system does lose power when hit.  Percentage of power loss/amount of hits can be absorbed is determined by the weight classification of the tank, which is set by the dip switches.
It does not use the same DBU unless you change out the harness either on your DBUs or our battle system board since we use USB connectors for ours.  The receiving diode in the tower has a wider range than the DBU, as well, for our future enhancement considerations
The sound card cannot be added to your existing DBC’s, unfortunately, due to on board voltage regulators and power sources on our system

In addition, currently in the works is an additional sound board that will host tank sounds.  Once complete, the sounds from the stock main boards will be totally omitted.  Not sure of timeframe on this.  We were hoping to have it complete already, but…

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Bill

So it Guys it operates just like a Darkiths system but you cant upgrade the sound card on the DBC but it may be posible to use the DBU with a change of wiring (For those of you like me with hidden battle units this is good news if you want to swop over )
I think this may well be a good step forward better sounds which will be upgradeable and a full system for $95 (£60.47)Plus postage this for you guys who dont want to assemble a Darkith unit is the way to go it wont be anymore difficult than changing a board.

regards pete
