Morris Quad

Post by wibblywobbly »

Well seeing as I have already done a 25pdr gun, and have an HL truck on the way I thought I would start on a Morris Quad. I figured that if I do a 1/16 shell and its not the right size for the axle width on the truck, I can just scale the whole shell up or down in Cura or Openscad and everything will stay in proportion.

The main shell is done, now need to start on the detail, and yes it was a complete pain to do! >:<

If all else fails I can just do the whole thing as a static model for a diorama.

Well if it does not work and it becomes a static, then I know someone who will take it off your hands:)

Well I am hoping it will all work one way or another. When its all done I can of course print another one.

The cab side windows weren't quite right, this is the corrected one

Jeez, this is not a simple one to design, still plenty to do.

Hi Rob, love the design, just one small issue, you appear to be putting a door above the front wheel arch, the door is actually in the side behind the front wheel arch (although I may be misreading your picture).

I think you are misreading the picture. The model is designed from the blueprint, all measured etc. If you are judging the door by the lower hinge position, that's just temporary until I put a door outline in.

The following views are probably clearer.

I had to go and check photo's of the real thing, as it was obvious that there could not be a side door on the cab itself. That moulding at the front that looks like a doorhandle on the blueprint is actually a light bracket. I'll print those parts separately but put a block there so that they go in the same position on each side.

It fits on a CR10 bed...just!

Pretty much done, will have to sit here while the slow boat from China brings my truck to my doorstep...

Still have all of the brackets etc to do, but I will have to print those separately to the shell as it's easier to do it that way. The wheels are just there for show, will have to see what the HL wheels/tyres are like before I can do anything in that department. I don't have rubber filament so it's a matter of making parts fit.

I guess I had better do the limber just to complete the set up.
