I changed the print head settings to 40mm for the x,y and z. The supplied settings were too small for printing each part at a time. These settings leave plenty of room.

Well I got my Creality printer, spent most of an hour setting it up, and the bloody thing doesn't work!!!!!

The LCD screen on the front is not lighting up. The fan works, CURA connects to the printer and says it's ready to print, but without a control panel I can't autohome or preheat or anything. I am so cross!!

Are the fans working? Have you pushed the power cable right in, and have you switched it on at the back? And have you checked the power switch 110/230v?

OK panic over I fixed it. I opened up the control box and the cable to the display from the control processor wasn't plugged in. Plugged it in and hey presto everything is working. Did this before I saw your post Rob - looks like a regular issue with things working loose in transit.

PHEW!!!!!

First test print running and noticed that the print head was jiggling around. On checking the adjuster bolt on the Z axis needed tightening. Also having great fun with bed levelling, set the levels on all four corner, go to the middle and the head is jammed on the bed. Level for the centre and the four corners are too high. Hmmmm... its going to be fun.

Try turning the glass over.

Yup did that and had the same problem, could it be because I am heating the bed fo the first couple of layers and then turning the bed heating off. When I was trying to level the bed was hot, so maybe it is slightly warping the bed.

Anyway the first print is now running and so far looking good. (that's tempting fate!!)

Yeah, I'm lurkin' around soakin' it all up.

So do you guys know of an assembly video, and if so, any that are actually good ones? Should I do one when my printer gets here? Think future tank addicts would find it useful?

Just search for CR10 assembly on YouTube, there are loads.

Assembly is basicly:

Bolt part a to part b.
Plug in cables.
Level the bed.
Adjust rollers to remove slack.
Check cables are out of the way.
Set voltage to 110/220v.
Plug in.
Download Cura
Select CR10 profile
Load STL file.
Save file as GCode onto removeable media (the SD card).
Insert SD card into CR10.
Select Print.
Wait.

I had mine up and running without reading the manual. I still haven't.
