1/18 Sdkfz 251 weathering WIP
Wacht am Rhein operation is closing in, time to get more APC for the troops.
This is the second Sdkfz 251 getting a proper paint scheme and weathering.
After the primer coat, I used Tamiya XF-60 Dark Yellow and XF-2 White (mix ratio between 50/50 and 25/75) for the base, XF-64 Red Brown, XF-9 Hull Red, XF-10 Flat Brown and some White for the Brown colour. XF-65 Field Grey, XF-67 NATO Green and some White too for the Green.
The weathering is made with enamels: White, Brun Amber, Sienna, Ocher and Buff.
I still have to add the mud on the wheels and tracks as well as working on the interior.

Hi Herman,
I used handkerchief or soft paper can do the job too and electric welding tin for the bars. The half rings are not sufficient, you need to make a "U" bar too.

Thank you Nigel,
I also add a small patch on it ( bullets or even a rat can damage the canvas) but it isn't very clearly on the picture, but here is another one:

Re: 1/18 Sdkfz 251 weathering WIP
I have decided that I have finished my 1/16 WCP Hanomag 251 a splendid model that like all good models provides a base that allows for expansion. Just added the missing side auxilary doors and the "Grain of Wheat Bulbs (3mm Pre Wired 12 volt yellow)" from www.microminiatures.co.uk (Very fast turnaround from ordering to arrival on the doorstep)
in the headlamps as well as knocking up a shield for the front MG34,
Now to finally get on with the Tongde and Haya Centurions, Not much needed but they have been cluttering up the workshop for far too long, And in the interim I have been getting all the bits I need for MY definative Tiger 1 early.
Of course there are others needing my attention including an Abrams for my HG P 806 Low Loader trailer.,
So much to do so little time
Certainly no time for pictures
