Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.
Looking good.
Next steps, have to get rid of those horrible plastic pretend shackles. Noticed that a few people had found some good ones and fitted them. Also a working winch.
Good work
I am looking at cutting mine up a little to have the doors able to open aswell as have the windows etc bit more realistic.

I got my Truck yesterday at last,
It is still in its box waiting for 1/2 dozen other builds to get finished,
In the meanwhile I sit here like a spider in the middle of their web sucking the juices out of all the brilliant ideas that are filling this threads pages.
Shaun.
I used high tensile flat metal bar which is about 3mm wide which can be bent and shaped to your liking, believe it or not I came across it from an old windscreen wiper there are 2 pieces of it which hold the shape of the rubber blade running the length of the entire windscreen wiper, if you peel away the rubber blade you are left with 2 strong bendable lengths of flat bar, you can sometimes find cheap windscreen wipers at the motoring section of most discount store's and if you look at the price of just buying flat bar they work out quite reasonable compared to that, I have used this in many applications for framework
If you havnt already checked your truck I suggest you do, I had 2 delivered and it seems that heng long quality control had gone AWOL as 1 of the truck's had a front axel fitted to both the front and rear of it it's not as if you couldn't notice it as the connection arm from the steering shaft to the servo motor was still attached and just swinging about as it had nothing to fix too but never mind got it all sorted now
