HL Truck Mods

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

Anyone wanting the "Rims" and "Tyres" that Carl has just become the proud owner of,
They are available from---
www.tank-modellbau.de
and they are Art 2430 Rims and Art 2420 Tyres which you will easily find by typing in the Art + number in the search box of the site.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Thanks Shaun. They are quite nice to work with. With Lee's advice I drilled them out to the proper 10mm width to accept the Heng Long "cap".

The fronts I drilled to 9mm to accept the cap with a very strong friction fit.

Here's the front rim and tyre before the drill and after. It's very important to start out with a 5mm bit and work your way up to the 9mm hole or your drill will destroy the plastic wheel. One mm at a time.

I then cut the rear of the wheel to match the length of the Heng Long hex sprocket cap

The rear dually rims and tires are drilled 5.5mm inner rear rim. The hub is cut flush with the outer edge of the rim to make room for the second rim. The outer rim gets carefully drilled out to 10mm the entire original hub breaks away.

2mm bit to drill out white nylon hub for longer screw to put all togetherImage

I want to show this step by step as I'm doing right now and its per Lee's instructions so all could see it and make thier own setup. I would not have figured this out on my own

Lee you deserve much praise for all your help!ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
