Is there any way of turning up the volume on a Clark board .... mine is too quiet.

Check out this post by maxmekker, it might help.
It could also be a case of running an 8 ohm speaker from 4 ohm amplifier, but I am not 100% sure on whether the Clark is designed for 4 or 8 ohm speakers. An 8 ohm speaker will be considerably quieter, though.
