Tamiya Pershing clutch function

Post by MichaelC »

Hi all,

Sorry more question as I am knee deep in this build. Just notice that the Pershing DMD has a clutch release function. I got it disengage on start, but can't seem to get it to engage afterwards. I guess my question is, it is just for releasing on start-up, and you cannot engage it again until you turn the tank off and back on again ?

Thanks !

MichaelC.

That's right.

Will only engage when you start then tank each time.

Safety feature more than a revving feature.

Perfect thank you. Kinda silly if you can't engage it again like in Clark Tk-24.

I kinda figure that as I keep trying to engage it again and it keep going backwards instead.......... :-)

It was to stop tanks flying off tables more than anything when you turn it on

Im glad im not the only on ethat cant make it work. Sadly my one seems a little confused. I switch the engine on, flip the trim toggle and nothing happens usually.

How should it work?

Rocketman, Unfortunately I am not using the Attack 4 analogue radio, so what I actually have to do is when I configure the DMD, I only go half way and not to the extreme stick position on the throttle stick, and then mapped a switch to that stick at 125% (Rather than 100%) and it works for me.

You might want to make sure that when you config your radio all the trim are at zero, and then try again with the trim to max.

It was tricky.

It's easier with a trim movable radio.

Trims all set to N.

Set dmd up.

Slide left trim down.

Blip throttle full reverse.

Slide trim to middle.

Drive.

With the computer style radios, set the dmd with all settings at 100%.

Go into the radio and change the throw for the throttle down, mg and main gun to 125%. Done.
