Re: h/l jagdpanther
I was looking through a couple of the combat diary history series for Jagdpanther Battalions and they did have those H/L exhausts on their late vehicles. I think from Jan 45 onwards (replacements from the Ardennes). The problem with the H/L version is, all the tools, rods etc had been stripped of the sides to the rear deck or the back of the superstructure by then. They were also standard factory painted and all insignia had been put on, so they all looked pretty much identical except for tactical numbers.
Another interesting point from the crew diaries is that most crews took of the side skirts before battle as they were more of a hinderence than help, coming loose and getting caught up in the running gear (wish I had read this before I fitted mine on).

Re: h/l jagdpanther
I have experienced the same thing in the model world. Most of the time the side skirts self destruct when running in mud and other debris.wargar wrote: I was looking through a couple of the combat diary history series for Jagdpanther Battalions and they did have those H/L exhausts on their late vehicles. Re: h/l jagdpanther
Tool layout was standard on all Jagdpanther once delivered to various divisions some took it on themselves to change this layout most notably 654 this was a field modification on period pictures you can see where they originally where

Re: h/l jagdpanther
It's a mid production Jagdpanther from 654 note the marks where the original stowage was mounted

Re: h/l jagdpanther
I suppose they cut the original mounting points off with a gas axe and the welded them into the new positions
