New bb unit not firing, shaft not moving

New bb unit not firing, shaft not moving

It makes the popping sound but nothing comes through? I took it apart and you can see that the shaft doesn't pull back far enough to let the BB in. Shall I return it? I bought it about 5 moths ago, but only just fitted it.

Chances are the plastic teeth on one of the gears are chipped off. As I was told by Eric from Taigen Tanks, buy extras.
