King Tiger coming for Christmas

Post by corebyspencer »

Hi

Will have a super toy to play with at Christmas and, being disabled, would like to be able to fight with it. Before I get the IR battle kit for the tank I would like to find out if there are indeed clubs or venues where you can rock up and have some fun. Having moved to Nottinghamshire fairly recently so don't know the area well so if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very appreciative. Oh btw the tank will be a Taigen 1/16th scale King Tiger.

Spen welcome to the FORUM
I obviously have no idea what you know about battling with a 1/16 Tank,
First rule it has to be compatible with the "Tamiya" I R System which Heng Long/Torro/and Taigen are not,
The way round that is to fit a control board that converts the signal to one that is on the same wavelength as "Tamiya"s,
"ASP" "IBU2/3" "Clark" are all good choices but of course they will need an aftermarket Transmitter/Receiver,
As to meets there is a regular venue at Great Gonerby on the A1 south of Nottingham and you will I am sure be soon getting more detail from other members of the Forum,
In the meanwhile please feel free to ask all the questions you want and we will gladly answer them,,
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Welcome. I think the next GLAD meeting is next Sunday (2nd) if you want to come along; I also think Dave "forgebear" will be there to help relieve you of any money you may happen to bring along......

There may be people with Taigen systems: is the HL one compatible? There are a few members with the Tamiya system too.
