Another Newbie from the USA
Another Newbie from the USA
Howdy y'all!
I'm a retired USAF pilot. Flew F-111s, instructed in T-37s and T-38s. After retiring from the USAF I worked at the local airport until I had to take a disability retirement due to bad back. Along the way I've flown R/C aircraft, played around with R/C cars, and when 21st Century Toys came out with their 1/6th scale Stuart I was into customizing GI Joes and their "cousins" so I had to get the tank. Then 21st brought out their R/C Stuart so I got one of those, too. Eventually I found out about the 1/16th scale tanks and I bought an M-41 and a Panzer III. Now I have one of the new 4x4 military trucks on order from Gear Best ("processing"). I'll probably add a M-4 to the collection pretty soon.
Good to be here!
Robert

Welcome, you will most certainly have a good time here!

1:16 was my scale. Until 'Konan' came into my life... an Armortek 1:6 Tiger 1!

Good to have you, Robert
Instead of going to the doctor's with this bug (modelling), folk bring it here for treatment.
Once you have the M4, be prepared for an inward rush of competing potential 1/16 armour purchases
Hope it's not too much of a come down from the full-size Big Boys' Toys
My brother lives in Sandwich, Mass., and his wife's brother-in-law used to have fun servicing Air national Guard F16s. I was all ears on a visit there back in 1994... as planes were my first love as a boy..

Re: Another Newbie from the USA
Hi Robert, Australia has just bought the F35, and lots of people are up in arms about how it's being regarded in the US. The same thing happened when we bought the F111, but it turned out to be one of the best ever with and extended service life.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!
I loved the Vark. It was the Cadillac of the skies.
Looking forward to upgrading and "playing with" the tanks.
