Heng long truck

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

I know it says 1/16 everywhere, but my guess is that it is probably closer to 1/18 unless someone can compared it to the real thing if it exists.

How does it compare to the indiana jones truck if you have one Michael, that's 1/18 scale if I remember rightly,

I don't but if I recall correct this looks bigger. Also the Indiana Jones one are 6x6 or of a slightly bigger model anyway ? This one looks quite reasonable, but when you look at the figures (Verlinden is almost 1/15 so that doesn't help) and Kubelwagon (Asiatam one is also slightly bigger than the Tamiya ones I believe) it does look a little small, only a little.

But when you look at the price, the build (aluminum frame, even have extra leaf springs in the box), soft rubber wheels, true 4x4 with transfer cases, solid axle leaf spring suspension and headlights ? This is a no brainer. They will be selling them by the bucket loads if not already.

You're right Michael the indiana jones truck is indeed 6x6 :/ I doubt if any of these trucks will be staying in their original form when we get our hands on them anyway :D countless conversions I can see lol,

Micheal she's a really nice truck for the money. I also like the idea that it's available in the dark grey color I'll surely repaint it but it does give people another option if they choose not to paint it.
Tanks alot....

So how does it run? Is steering proportional or just left, right and center? How about throttle? Does it actually have a throttle or is it just dead stop or go like hell? How does it handle? Fun to drive?

Its a motor steering so not proportional. The control has very little feel so I would say it is all or nothing. The throttle might be but it is 0-60 i.e. dead stop and then go like hell........ I haven't really play with it much yet. Probably too much fun to drive, and not like a truck. Tires are grippy though.
