So let it begin. When I saw Christian Ludwig's Jagdtiger I had to have one. I was a bit surprised when it arrived as I was expecting a square box. It was fairly heavy, and it caused the mailman to ask why I was ordering sheet metal from Germany.

Very nice quality as usual from his shop How do you plan on assembling the metal parts? Will you please share a build thread I'm sure many members of the forum would like it for sure!

I decided to give the parts a quick sandblasting before starting on assembly. This ought to help with both epoxy and paint adhesion, and was fairly easy.
Then I have installed the Tamiya Königstiger suspension housing using M2 miniature bolts from DKLM



I have put a tape measure to show how long this thing is-approximately 17 inches

Im going with Henkel 9394 epoxy. I figured it's best to stay as much German as possible.

The trouble with aluminium is that it needs painting the moment you clean it up, aluminium almost instantly starts oxidizing, and although you've roughend the surface, it's already filming over with non paint friendly oxides.

Absolutely right!
You have to clean thoroughly every Piece before gluing and remove any oxyidation with sandpaper.

Which adhesive/glue do you want to use?

I build this Jagdtiger with the same Parts vom Ludwig.

Well here's is an update. I have begun "gluing" everything together. Ammo does come in handy for weighting the parts down. The Henkel/ Loctite is pretty easy to use.






I am putting in the Corleis suspension. I had Herr Ludwig make the rails with 3mm holes instead of the slanted ones for the torsion bars.

Small update form today. Bumpers installed.

Sure is looking like an epic engineering task mate.
Are the suspension arms made of a robust alloy in your opinion ?

Yes, Herman, the suspension arms are of good quality, but then they are Tamiya, and one would expect that they are quality.
