Hi All,
A question has arisen regarding the gradient of the rear deck of the Jagdpanzer IV build I am undertaking. There's been a lot of discussion about the 3 degree gradient slope downward of the rear deck of the Panzer IV. So, the question is: does the Jagdpanzer IV have the same downward slope to the rear deck from the point where the it starts at the bottom of the rear fighting compartment as the Panzer IV?
Any help or comment on the topic is greatly appreciated?
Danke!

Re: Jagdpanzer IV Rear Deck Question
Hi, If you go to ----
http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com and dial up JAGDPANZER 4,
The first paragraph clearly states that the hull remained unchanged from the Panzer 4 although there were many changes that are obvious to the eye the basic structure apart from the front hull did not change,
Certainly the rear sloping engine bay was unchanged although it is difficult to see as the Jagdpanzer 4 body was almost fully enclosed in most Jagdpanzer 4 variants
Pictures of the rear of the vehicle shows the rear panel of the two types are the same,
The only obvious difference to the rear panel of the Jagdpanzer 4 from that of the Panzer 4 is the lack of any indication of the Turret motor because it was of course not fitted to the Turretless Jagdpanzer 4.
Shaun.
