Hello from Manchester

Hi all,

I've been into model boats for a while and I love the hobby,especially the modifying, all of my boats are fitted out with modifications, I also needed something I could do from my garden when the conditions for boating are less than favourable, I used to go two days a week but we have our new grandchild one day a week and baby minding landed on a boating day so the other month I treated myself to a Torro Tiget 1, I must admit I'm really impressed with the stock version but mostly with the upgrading available with all the accessories, I do try to make most of my own accessories I have a very modest workshop in my shed but at the moment it's in Buzz axe production for my youngest son ( xbox related ) on the tank side it's a bit wallet draining at first but like my boats I try to keep the spend down to a minimum mainly to avoid the death glare from the wife, but once set up it's only a minimal outlay for a hobby.

Right I'm off round the forum to find out more.

Welcome. I am also a new boy on the block joining only a few weeks ago. The guys on this website are so welcoming and their knowledge is second to none.
Last week I went to my first meeting of the Bristol group and they were just great. Just bought my first tank. A Taigen Panther G. In my mind I have already spent hundreds of pounds in upgrades. Easy does it unless you have a private slush fund!!! Luckily my new hobby shares a private bank account with my other passion of riding Harley Davidson bikes so all I have to do is divert some cash to the tank.
You will learn so much from these guys.

Hey Mark! I'm from Salford and there are a load of us in Manchester into model tanking. We all meet the 3rd sunday of the month (tomorrow) at longridge primary school.

I'm also into model boats and am a member of the bury club. Where abouts do you sail?

I agree about the slush fund but she's in charge of the slush,

I sail at Ethero I'm hoping to go to the tankmeet tomorrow, but first my youngest has wargamer sessions in bury so after that then hopefully we will set off.
