HL Tiger in the mud

Post by 87lc2 »

Wanted to share some photos of my Tiger getting muddy as it was intended to be. Every weekend my father and I take our RC tanks, trucks, etc out to the local trails and run through the dirt, mud, snow, and whatever else we can make it through. I have quite a few tanks now, but the Tiger has been the best off road so far. It is a basic HL Tiger 1 early version with metal tracks, drive wheels, idler wheels, and steel 4:1 gear boxes. It has been very reliable and pretty much unstoppable. I've fully waterproofed the hull and have had it up past the fenders in water and it just pushes right through. I'll get some better photos in the next couple of weeks, but thought it would be nice to share. The last few photos are of the Tiger before its first outing, it will never be that clean again...

That Tiger looks right at home when it's up to its axles in mud. There's no substitute for that kind of authentic weathering!

:D Yes, your tanks certainly have that 'lived-in' look of authenticity; of natural wear and tear. I have to say, I also envy you the size of your 'Mancave' (a workshop or maybe Garage?) :D You have ample elbow room there for a massive, and inevitable, expansion of the collection

Yes, much easier to naturally weather them :D Besides, I'm not nearly as good as most of you guys yet at actually weathering them.

The grarage is great, its mostly full of 1:1 cars, tools, etc but I have a nice corner carved out for RC tanks and trucks.
