New member from the Belgian Ardennes

[Alfa Three Five]

Dear all,

My name is Cedric, Aka Alpha 3.5 like on facebook. Fist of all why Alpha Three Five? It was my call sign in the First Lanciers Reg. of the Belgian Army.

I'm from the Belgian Ardennes, just few clics from La Gleize that a lot of you knows as not only one of the many battle area of the World War 2 but also as there is one of the few remaining KIng Tiger tank sitting of the church square, since I'm a kid I am in love with tanks that love even bring me inside of one for many years.

Few years ago I start with R/C tanks but a busy life didn't allow me to dedicate enought time to it, now that I have more free time I finally can take time to work on my models: tanks, vehicles or figures. What I love isn't only to get them but to be able to customise them, modify them and share it with other with commun passion.

I have few WWII tanks and figures as well as modern one.

Also as I have a nice garden and thanks to my negociator tallents with my wife I finally can use a part of our garden as training area for my tanks (inspired by what I saw in places like Bergen, Outerburn and other lovely NATO holidays resorts)

Welcome Alpha 3.5, and thanks for the interesting mini biography. From what you've written, this Forum should be the ideal place for you to indulge your interests, and share ideas. I think I once drove past the La Gleize King Tiger..many years ago now, en route to the Eifel Naturpark. It's easy to guess how the tank prompted your curiosity..

Alpha 3.5 Welcome to the Forum
I have some great memories of Belgium from the 60s,
My first introduction in Liege to the proper way to eat chips, With MAYONAISSE!!
We were based on Bierset Airfield and we used the Taxiways but of course we always gave way to the Aircraft,
I was driving an Austin Champ but pulled onto the grass when an F86 came along, as it passed me the nose wheel collapsed in a shower of Sparks, Obviously being nearest I drove to the stricken PR Jet and picked up the Pilot who seemed to possess a fine grasp of Anglo Saxon, but was quite unhurt,
It was easy driving from Germany through Aachen into Belgium but heading back we were looking for the Aachen signs to get back to Germany but all we kept seeing was Aix-le Chappelle signs and that was when some bright so and so suggested that might be the French for Aachen, DOHHH,
I hope you enjoy this place we will try to make your membership of your Forum both fun and educational,

G'day and welcome along from the sunny Gold Coast, Australia Mr 3.5.
I too have spent quality time clambering over 213 in La Gleize, hours in the museum(I was apparently the first New Zealander to visit) and tramping the ground around Foy, Bastogne , Houfalise, Gandmesnil, La Roche & everything significant around the area.
A beautiful part of this world.
I pretty much covered every area documented in the "Bulge" theatre of operations.
