Has anyone else here got one of the Heng Long Tiger I's, with the latest generation 2.4GHz controller? If you have, does yours have the track recoil, and make a sound when firing BB's? Noticed to day that my sons does neither, yet my other sons Pershing, with the same control does both. Not sure if it's something wrong with the tiger, or if the tiger isn't supposed to do it?
Also, can anyone tell me if the Taigen metal machine gun should be a simple fit and wire up in place of the red LED in the hull of the Heng Long? Specifically, this one, http://www.forgebeartanks.com/store/p46 ... _Long.html

Thanks, that's what I thought, but I tried to fit it today, soldered the wires together but now he only gets the gun sound and no flashing light.

The newest version in the tiger I that I own recoils and makes the gun fire noise. Sounds like the micro switch on the airsoft mechanism.bikerdude wrote:Has anyone else here got one of the Heng Long Tiger I's, with the latest generation 2.4GHz controller? Re: Heng Long Tiger I
Thanks, I initially wired it red to red, black to black, and when that didn't work I tried red to black and black to red, but it still didn't work. If I wire it direct to the NIMH battery pack it should work shouldn't it? Or does the control board lower the voltage to the LED's?
Thanks for the video, I'll have to investigate further, I personally prefer it without the track recoil, as it looks silly rolling backwards when shooting sideways, but it's my sons tank and he wants it to do it. Any idea where the microswitch is located, and how easy it is to get inside the turret? I've not had to try and remove a turret before.

If you hook the led direct to the pack, it'll burn it out. Better off hooking it up to the existing wiring. Do you have a multimeter? If so you can check the resistance on it, or if your meter has a diode checker, you can use it. If the led is good, it should show open one way, and continuity the other way.
Carl is most likely right about the micro switch. A buddy got a new Taigen Panther and it did the same thing. One of the wires had not been soldered to the micro switch.
Good luck!

Thanks, I'll buy another multimeter, mine seems to be playing up and not giving reliable readings, so will check it at the end of the week. May well go on and order some more of the guns though, whilst not correct, I fancy 1 on my bulldog, and a few for a boat project.
