Mick if you go to -----
www.rctank.de
Click on Accessories,
Then scroll to the bottom and click on accessories, go to sub page "3" And you will find both sizes of Metal turret rings,
The smaller is 22.95 Euros and the bigger is 24.95 Euros.

Make your own like I did. Get ANY 360 setup just for the little spinning bit. File the bump on your ring into teeth, doesn't need to be perfect. Then cut the spinning bit off the other ring, trim to fit yours, add sheet plastic to reinforce, glue together, TA-DA! You just made your own! Hope this helps.

AHH But Jack I think you have lost your Bearings or is it your marbles :haha: :haha: sorry I couldn't resist it.
I don't think that Alwyn has a problem with making a 360 degree turret ring in plastic he has a 3D printer so he can print one out,
But he wants the turret ring to have bearings in the ring and the 360 degree metal turret ring that was suggested includes bearings.

Thanks Shaun yes, I have looked at the turret rings with bearings, and basically these are turret rings with 3 small bearings equidistant around the ring. That takes care of lateral movement but doesn't cater for vertical loading. I will probably have a bash at creating a conical style full size bearing which should handle lateral and vertical elements. I've already bought some 2mm bearing balls,

I just need to design and print the upper and lower races and the ball cage to keep the balls equidistant around the ring. It's not a complicated design/print, it just needs careful design and tight tolerances. Toò tight and it won't turn, too slack and it'll come apart.

It will be an interesting little project within my main is2 build. :/

Didn't see in his first post where he wanted metal or bearings only a 360 set up.

Hi Guys, yes Mick you've got the design pretty much as I'd planned it

with the addition of a small retaining lip to hold the bearing together. There is enough 'give' in the plastic for it to clip over I think - experimentation will be required!

All I have to do now is design and print it! 8O :/

Hi Mick, I have the great advantage that I am scratch building the hull and turret, so I can manufacture all the parts to fit whatever design works best. :D I am probably going to wind up prototyping/adjusting/redesigning until I find something that works well. :/

Thanks very much for the input though, it all helps when I get down to the CAD design.
