Need a little help with a measurement on my 1/6 Hetzer

Post by Max-U52 »

Hi, Guys. Since I'm going paintball for this I won't ever set it up as intended (which I'd have to figger out anyway, as there are no instructions for mounting the cannon) I have to determine how far out of the tank the barrel should protrude. I know there are at least a couple of these Hetzers in the UK so if someone that has one would be so kind as to take a gander at this video and then a quick measurement you can save me loads of headaches and pulling out of hair. @)

This guy suggests that the Hetzer with Barrel amounts to 6.27meters, and 4.87 mtrs without. This means the barrel with stick out by 1.4 meters proud of the front glacis, Gary.
Here's Jim-Bob's scale converter to find the right formula for your beast's proboscis:

Thanks, Roy. 9 and 3/16 inches. That calculator you linked was kinda confusing, so I just used my calculator. 1,400mm, divided by 25.4 divided by 6. Easy, peazy, japaneazy. @) @) @)

I decided to let you work it out yourself! It's good for forming new neural pathways in the ageing hippy brain :haha: I should know..mine's a lot older and more abused than yours ( I suspect). I have a link to a great and preposterously simple scale converter from some swedish geek, only my 'Bookmarks' list for RC is now a mile long; so I couldn't locate it in time for a snappy response.
Glad to see you making steady progress, and have checked in on your Youtube channel from time to time for visual updates..

It's probably not going to be of any help to you, but this is the Hetzer at the Bovington Tank Museum

Had I know before hand, I could have taken a lot more detailed photos. :(
