heng long panzer III battery fitment

Post by hoffo »

Hello everyone I'm new to the forum and searched but couldn't find an answer to my specific question. I just got a HL panzer III and was wondering if a larger nimh battery like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1x-7-2V-5000mAh ... 1438.l2649 will fit in the stock battery tray? The stock battery I have is a 2 cell lion that is short and 1800mah and it fits in the deeper part of the tray. The concern I have is that the other end of the tray where it is shallow doesn't seem like it would be deep enough to fit (looks to be only about 1/2 inch deep). Will this battery fit and the battery cover still go on or is there some modification of the battery box needed?

Hi,

No. It definitely doesn't fit, lol. That's why I plan to just cut out the battery box as it severely limits the type of battery you can use (Probably only Li-ion and Li-poly)

Here's a thread that might have a few good tips on removing the battery box.
