i used

squadron signal green stuff filler .. which dilutes with humberol liquid poly .. and stippeled on with an old brush

That's a good idea although Liquid poly doesn't really melt the plastic, I used super glue because the Heng Long plastic is not from this planet!

I found most fillers just clip off, the plastic is sort of oily, when you cut or dremal it it heats up real quick even super glue doesn't really hold things on just one knock and off they pop except when use in the way i used it for casting effect.
