Panzer 4 rear fender springs.

Post by jarndice »

If like me you like working front and rear fenders on a Panzer 4, "Shapeways" care of our own Warren sells them and they are not too hard to fit,
BUT I would disregard the Plastic springs that are available at extra cost for the rear fenders and instead go to ----
http://www.prime-miniatures.co.uk
and order a pack of ten(10) "1 pack x 0.9 x 4.3 mm springs" they cost £1.75 for a pack of 10 and the first class post is £1,
The best bit is they really work and look great.
Shaun.

I was just looking at those rear fender springs on my PzIV yesterday and was wondering how to sort them out. You have pointed me in the right direction Shaun, thanks for the tip.

Before you go rushing to order them I was a bit surprised to find they are far too small so I have searched out another source---
http://www.ukbolt.co.uk
They have springs much closer to the size needed for PZ4 rear fenders.
Click on Compression springs,
0.8mm x 4.7mm x 15mm Pack of 10 £8.51
Sorry for any confusion.

If these are the ones http://www.ukbolt.co.uk/08mm-helical-co ... 0884-p.asp I get a price of £3.16 including 1st class post. Otherwise, I have the wrong ones.

Hi Richard, Yes and no, I think you are quoting a pack of 4, My quote was for a pack of 10. Although I have been wrong in the past,
For instance in 1956 I told my schoolmaster how to spell Edinburgh, He insisted it was Edinborough !!
I said he was wrong and then I was sent to the Headmasters office,
I learnt a valuable lesson,
Being right does not always prevent you from a sore ar*e.
