A Few Tanks At Once
I have 4 tanks on one tx, what would happen if say I turned the tx on and turned 2 of the tanks on? Would the tx power them both at the same time..if I push forward they both go forward etc..I was going to have a try but thought i'd ask first incase something scary could happen

Given it's a case that the transmitter transmits & the receiver receives (no direct energy transfer like you'd get with a cable) I'd expect it to just result in some poor driving and more mishaps than usual. Much the same as when people use the same crystals.

Re: A Few Tanks At Once
I thought each tank would have its own unique profile in the TX, and when you switch it on, the TX would bring up the last profile used..not all four. That way, it will only operate with one tank at a time. Well, that's my guess, Jake.Jake79 wrote:I have 4 tanks on one tx, what would happen if say I turned the tx on and turned 2 of the tanks on? That said, my grandson had a fairly basic RC controlled car some years back, and every time he set it in motion there was a strange rumbling and shuffling noise from upstairs. Eventually, the penny dropped. There was another identical model in his bedroom sharing- I suppose- the same frequency. Scary effect though

This was in my pre-tank days when the only remote control device I was familiar with switched the Tele, or the Hi-Fi on

Re: A Few Tanks At Once
Maybe Rob, with just the one tx and 4 receivers in theory they should all move in the same direction
Well you would be right 43rd if I had a better tx, but this ones a planet so doesn't have a 10 or 20 model programme like the new tx's. I run 4 tanks from it and each tank is programmed to that tx. My guess would be that if I turned on the tx then all 4 tanks would have to move. I was wondering if they would all move in unison.

Line all 4 tanks up in a row, switch them all on along with the radio and drive them all in an advance on the enemy......
Go on, you know you want to
I would.

Re: A Few Tanks At Once
For 27mhz it depends on the crystals used, for 2.4ghz it depends on the binding with each model.
Mìght it start all tanks, be prepared for some interesting mayhem, since no tank is exàctly trimmed the same. Re-enacts Dunkirk, a mad scramble..
Most 'terrible' thing that could happen is that You'll wreck some detail parts when one or two of the tanks go full-tilt towards the nearest solid object.. They tend to do that when things go belly-up. Odd thing, that....

Re: A Few Tanks At Once
It depends on your tx and rx.
HL crystals. One tx with same crystals in several tanks. They are all under the control of one tx.
2.4 ghz, depends on the tx. Some have the facility to set up individual tank profiles, but if all of the rx's are bound to the same tx, then they will all be controlled by that tx.
Some 2.4ghz tx's have totally unique model selection (I think), so that you can switch between tanks, eg stop one and start another.
As an example, I have one Flysky tx. I have several tanks and they all have rx's in them that are bound to the one tx. If I leave a tank switched on, and then switch another on, both tanks are 'live'. I almost sent my scratchbuilt Comet flying off a bench at the last meet as I had forgotten to switch it off before switching another on.

Ahhh.. yes , well I use the Spektrum DX6i which boasts a 'modelmatch' technology for profiling 10 different models. Maybe that's why I thought you wouldn't have a problem with a formation of tanks doing the armour equivalent of the Red Arrows..Jake79 wrote:Maybe Rob, with just the one tx and 4 receivers in theory they should all move in the same direction
