Faulty/broken tanks/tank parts

Post by Will01Capri »

Hi Guys.
Sorry hope I am able able to post here. Couldn't work out if I needed 50 posts to put up wanted request.

Does anyone have any broken or damaged or non working tanks?
Really looking 1/16 scale but will consider others e.g. 1/24.
It is so I can put a collection together and try out weathering ideas and camouflage on different tanks and maybe also use to build up a war zone in garden etc.
Because of the above I am looking super cheap stuff, but will also consider bulk buys of faulty or shop returns etc. All conditions considered

Looking for some Tiger 1 parts preferably cheap Heng Long stuff.
Need suspension arms/pins, roadwheels and tracks.
Walker bulldog chassis/Pershing Chassis etc.

Got 2x heng long Tiger 1s.
One which seems to be working except BB cannon. And another with alot of metal upgrades and a big project. But looking for broken cosmetically electrically or.mechanically broken and use them for weird tracked vehicle projects and a bit of a semi working graveyard.

Surprisingly there aren't many broken or non-working tanks that come up for sale, most repair them or keep them for parts. Ebay is probably the best source, but even a non-working HL tank is going to cost around £30-60, if you are lucky.

There is nothing on an HL tank that can't be replaced or repaired one way or another, and lower hulls are always kept by the scratch builders as they are ideal for projects. Hence, not many about that you see for sale.

The other issue is postage, a tank costs £15 to post, so that's the starting cost. The tank is worth say £40...so that is already £55, and if you shop around you can get some new for not much more than that. I am guessing that is why you don't see many on Ebay.

I drove 80 + Kms for a single broken-ass Tiger, then carried on another 375 round trip to exchange a few boxes of H/L leftovers for some Pantiger bits I need for a Panther project, 3 weeks ago !
Any tank a body has is still worth hanging onto ................as it can & will be turned from straw into gold, & when they come up, its worth the trip.

The gearbox just broke in my working Tiger haha. The plastic gear which is on the spline which drives the sprocket slips. I have metal gearbox but it doesn't line up with the mounting holes.
Going to cut some wood up and glue it in so I can at least screw down the spare box.
But both Tiger's are different model years. One is a 3815 not sure the other.
II a hearing what you guys saying. Just need to be prepared for.more expenditures lol

Yes indeed Will it's always something.... Most metal gearboxes will fit as many have stated before. I usually modify the gearbox mounting plate and screw them down. Just make sure the shafts are the correct lengthImage
Tanks alot....
