Re: RC Tank Brands?
I just checked the "Includes" section for all three of their Panthers. Only the all-metal Panther F comes with the receiver.
I think it's kinda silly, but I can see why they do it. Taigen sells FAR more Airsoft tanks than IR tanks. Heck, Heng Long stopped making IR all together. I think it's that way because most of the dedicated IR battlers use Tamiya compatible systems.
Here's the link to the receiver.

Yeah true but I have 4 new battery's and a fairly new smart charger. And a Lipo charger. I've fully charged all of the battery's and tried them all with the same result. And the tank runs fine for at least 30 min without any problems I've haven't had it shut off on me yet except when I shoot the cannon. Oh well I'm just gonna have to take it as a loss. Maybe I can figure out the problem later one. For now the last thing is to wait for the return of my king tiger whenever Erik figures it outRoboticus_Prime wrote:The Taigen control boards are designed to shut the tank off at low voltage. This prevents the tank from becoming erratic and preforming actions that were not sent from the transmitter, like driving off in a random direction or firing the BB cannon. The older Heng Long boards do not have an auto shutoff, and they will sometimes do odd things at low voltage.

Re: RC Tank Brands?
Yes sir that is correct on both. I can run the panther just fine until I fire the cannon, when I fire the cannon it will cycle off. Light on the tank will blink, I then have to flip the ignition switch off and then on again at which point it turns on fine.Son of a gun-ner wrote:So, you're saying, you can run the panther for about half an hour if you don't touch the firing control, but if you touch the firing control at any time within that half hour period it shuts down?
If this is so, surely that's either a transmitter or receiver fault?
So, this KT you've sent back, does it have the exact same controller as the panther?
Mick.
Yes the King tiger I sent back has the same controller as my panther

Re: RC Tank Brands?
I can't imagine a tank capable of running for 30 minutes shuts down with the IR recoil triggered after a few minutes of run time and it's the battery. I can see at the end of the run time as these Taigen sets do shut off when low voltage is suspect. Sounds like a short in the wiring to the firing system or a rx and Tx problem.
A cheap battery charger and new battery pack (brand new of course) would resolve this once and for all. Charge up your pack with proof of purchase of the new battery and charger and go from there....

Well I have the new battery my panther cam with the regular yellow battery and also high end battery which was included with the sale. I don't have proof of purchase of a new battery or new charger. And I don't have the energy to argue with Erik about this. He didn't really give me a chance to explain. Keep in mind that I sent him a video. But whatever like I said it's a loss. I'm Gonna have to accept it.c.rainford73 wrote:I can't imagine a tank capable of running for 30 minutes shuts down with the IR recoil triggered after a few minutes of run time and it's the battery. I can do that? I can pair them up to diffrent tanks?Son of a gun-ner wrote:Well, I'm sorry, as he has brand new tanks from Imex with brand new batteries and brand new chargers, surely there's no need to spend out more just to prove a point?
Personally, if Erik heard what we've just been told, I think he should have paid more attention and gave it some thought.
Anyway, my thoughts are to swap controllers when the KT comes back to see if it makes a difference.

Re: RC Tank Brands?
Surely anybody reading this thread has already formed an opinion or Mr Raptors experience. Hope all turns out well for your king tiger and then you can revisit the panther( maybe an upgraded board like the new Ibu2U or Clark tk60
) . I think this whole experience for mr Raptor has been run out a bit long and hope it gets resolved soon in a positive fashion.
Just a thought....
How would we all feel if this was a new vendor?
I've seen more voiced over less IMHO
Is there anyone on the forum( who knows Erik) who can step in and add good word on this members behalf?
Would we all be satisfied with this process so far?
Carl

Re: RC Tank Brands?
Yes my intent was to show that as a paying customer of two items that it would be easier for this to be respectfully resolved between the two parties....
That being said this is certainly not the case with one defective item at this point.
I've had many positive experiences with the vendors on the forum weather it be a large or small purchase. Some even take time out of thier busy schedules to just help me at times.
That is why we reccomend certain people and companies.
That is why I reached out to anyone reading this thread in hopes someone who knows Erik personally would say a good word about this to help it get resolved in a quick and positive way.
We all do this for fun. This is not my idea of fun for the person involved or the people reading this.
I know that most return business is word of mouth and reccomendation. I know things sometimes fall through the cracks as they say but this is a bad situation for mr Raptor.

Good afternoon, Gentlemen,
I think at this point that it might be better to let Erik work with this fellow and resolve it to both of theirs satisfaction. Too Many Cooks, Broth, etc, etc,...There are special time eating circumstances involved here, also, I don't recall a circumstance where anyone was asked to spend money to resolve anything ( the Mushroom does not count since it does not come with that model ) and since none of us have been privy to the conversation between Erik and Foxtrotraptor, we should wait quietly and see what is done to resolve. Remain calm and keep your upper lips quiver free. *chuckles*
regards,
Painless

Re: RC Tank Brands?
Well its not my intention to bad mouth Imex or Erik, I'm just passing along my situation as it unfolds. As for what I said about Erik not listening to me, it was my "perception" during the conversation, I could be wrong, maybe I wasn't explaining it clearly enough, but honestly I'm not sure how much more clearly I could have explained it plus I included a video. But like I said ill take it as a loss and learning experience, I didn't want to start an argument with him especially since he seem so sure it was the battery. Hopefully my king tiger whenever I get it back, will work properly. After all that is set and done I wont be buying anymore tanks from Imex, I will buy parts and stuff from imex if my gear boxes wear out or any other parts I may need. My next tanks will be a Sherman and a T-34 from eBay vendor Tools Empire. Their wearhouse is close to me and I can go pick it up locally in person if I want. And its only 99 USD each tank. Sucks that this happen, I'm sure Imex isn't all bad, I honesty think this is just an isolated bad luck incident, but 2 tanks in a row with multiple problems along with communication problems and the lack of urgency with a simple return and exchange kinda left a sour taste in my mouth. Maybe I just purchased from Imex at a bad time? I don't know. But maybe I can turn this into a positive and make the panther a project by adding a new board and controller. Or something like that? I have no idea how to do that but I'm sure its nothing some research cant fix. Ill have to spend more money of course but I don't see any other alternative. Just gotta roll with the punches,
