It uses UV light. Only had it a few days so no idea what the lifespan is. After a print I pour the resin into a container through a sieve then pour it into the bath for the next print. The bath has a FEP film bottom which can be replaced. At about £3 each it's much cheaper then replacing the bath like some other printers.RobW wrote:Very impressive, and available on Amazon. Is this firing the beam into a resin bath? If so how reusable is the resin, and what's the lifespan like?

Mick.
Built it with Openscad as I didn't have any 3D software experience.

Woz,
Once you get it working, I'd be after some 1/30 early Sherman tracks, a full set. It looks like this thing is the real deal as far as resin printing goes!

Very nice Woz, the clarity of the prints are very impressive. The rook is spectacular. How strong is the cured resin, though?
Lately I've been wondering about getting into 3D printing, since I overestimated my traditional scratch-building skills and I haven't been well enough to spend any time in front of the workbench for a while. I want something that's strong enough for workable moving parts (hinges, hitches, catches and the like).

Another test piece-

10mm test cube.
The cross hairs in the middle of the hole are 0.5mm thick.
Still got some way to go before it's tuned in but it's a good start.
