You guys are GREAT as are all those who have help me along the way. I really enjoy the modeling challenges and i am hoping the end result will justify the effort!

Getting close to starting those holes with just a few more task to accomplish before they will move to the top of the task list. I received notice today that my turned bolts and rivets are in the mail so looks like next week will be spent drilling.

Quick update, The specific tank I am modeling does not have the rear most side skirts installed. This leaves the hinge where it mounts to the shirt exposed.
After looking all over I found hinges that were either too small or too large. I finally found one made by Dumas Boats that looked pretty much to scale but had the incorrect number of knuckles. I need 10 full knuckles plus one 1/2 length knuckle and it 7 + 1/2 when cut to needed length.

Sooooooo....I made my own!

Hi Mick,

First thank you for you kind words.....I try my best.

I spent 45 +years in aviation maintenance from Mechanic to Quality Management. I have been modeling for 60 +years and this build has "tested" all I have learned and has taught me many new skills.

Sorry for the lack of photos....courtesy of the jerks at Photobucket they have ruined many quality build threads all over the world.

Cheers,
Barry

Barry as this tank progresses it's almost unbelievable how much detail in scale you have achieved.

I know eventually you will paint the abrams to match this photograph?

Very cool in every way
Tanks alot....

Mr C, you really do need sedating and restraining !!
You must have a DNA print that combines mother Theresa and Michael Angelo !!

I vote for an over all colour of clear coat, so none of the exquisite details are obscured.

What gets me also is, that this is your FIRST go at one of these.................what the hell are you going to pull off for an encore
