As I sit here on my Elizabeth Griscom (Ross) settee I cannot help but think that if the women had stuck to the family upholstery business instead of temporarily taking upon herself the manufacture of pennants and furbelows the Union Flag might yet be bravely fluttering over the tree shrouded vista that is Pennsylvania Avenue.

Thanks to relaxed rules by Trump this past weekend in Lancaster PA. for the first time anyone can remember during the 4th of July fireworks show the U.S.ARMY band played the 1812 overture, backed up by the Nation Gaurd who brought along a few 155mm howitzers for the song. I would have loved to have been there to see it in person but I had to work.
