Hello from California

Post by foxtrotraptor »

Hello everyone, new to the RC Tank world here. Recently bought a Heng Long Tiger 1 just 2 days ago on ebay with the "upgraded pack" metal tracks along with the metal drive wheel and idler. I already have 2 issues out of the box which I will post in the appropriate section. Hopefully once I get it running like it should then Ill start the paint. I plan to do a custom paint and have a little project I can do together with my daughter. Im looking forward to having fun with this tank. Maybe I will buy a King Tiger depending on how my repairs go with my current Tiger 1. Thank you.

Thanks Mick, Yes they do grow up fast. I have 4 nephews and yes they are into their tablets for the most part, but I guess that's the new generation. I'm hoping this little project will pull them away from all that once they see how fun it can be.

Many thanks

Sal.

Mr Fox I agree about the price of our hobby and with the government and people of the UKs apparent death wish our Tanks cost even more than yours do,
If you go to ---
www.imex-model.com
they are selling "Taigen" Tiger2s in both BB and I/R for $400 each which is about a $100 saving,
Imex Eric is a Legend in the 1/16 r/c armour world, He is based in Florida and is well worth checking out.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Thats a bit too expensive for my wallet. I plan on getting another Heng Long later on down the line maybe a T-34 or a King Tiger if I find a good deal on online.

For your daighter look for a Japanese cartoon series titled "Girls Und Panzer". They have translated versions so she won't have to read the cartoon. Its different all girls schools who complete in "tankery" classes. Its a nice series, nothing you can't let a 5 year old see. Maybe she'll want her own tank after that!

Interesting. I'll check it out. I've never heard of it. Sounds like a cool cartoon. Thanks

SAL, A word of warning about "Girls und Panzer it concerns ,
"He who must not be named",
A figure of disdain to management but much loved and sorely missed by others including me,
He it was who first introduced many of us to the Singing, Tank loving Schoolgirls.
But you must give the General a very wide berth in case you become corrupt in the ways of 1/16 and 1/35 RC Armour.
A PINK PZ4  Yes really. You have been warned. :haha: :haha:

lol Ill tread lightly  Ill be posting up some pics of my Tiger One im almost done with the details. My King Tiger is going to have to wait until after I get a replacement from Imex of cource. As for the Pazer cartoon, ill probably have to hold off looks cool but the blu ray is kinda pricy, but ill pick it up sooner or later. From what ive seen on youtube its pretty cool, Tanks move way faster than they should but then again a cartoon like that isnt about realism. :haha:
