Good Manners.
Am I the only member of the Forum who gets annoyed at people coming on the Forum and laying out a problem without so much as a by your leave,?
Its a bit like turning up to a dinner party and going straight into the Dining room and starting out with the main course instead of meeting with the Host and Hostess and chatting about family and other shared interests first.
I suppose I am showing my age but it strikes me as good manners to introduce yourself before eating the caviar.
We love answering questions but we really would like to know a little about you first.
If I am out of order I apologise and withdraw my moan.
Shaun.

Re: Good Manners.
Good manners would be highly desirably for everyone.
It's a poor show that good manners are not Hip/in fashion/cool/whatever.
If everyone was more considerate towards others, the world would be a better place.......
They should teach good manners, common sense and consideration toward others in school.
But then, I know people with Masters degrees and high IQs with no idea when it comes to common sense.
I've wasted my breath on all the above matters many times, but no one takes any notice.
Never mind eh ?

Good afternoon, Harumph, Harumph!
I asked nicely for an Introductory Thread. Hopefully, a follow through is in the works. ;o) I agree with you but must watch my manners.

Painless

Re: Good Manners.
Oh Painless what happened, ?
Was it only yesterday that a Gentleman wore a hat NOT A BLO*DY BASEBALL CAP
and a lady white gloves. that children were seen but NOT heard and that when one had a free evening one would play bridge while listening to the wireless. and on Sunday the family got dressed in their best clothes for Meeting/ Church/ and a decent roast with a home made pudding.
It used to be so easy,
My father used to blame the Russians for the worlds troubles we cannot even do that anymore.

Re: Good Manners.
Jarndice, my Friend,
Time has moved on. We live in a new Age of Magnet Fishers and People who solve disputes with Automobiles. There is a lot of Good and a lot of Promise in the upcoming Generations ( particularly if they build model tanks ) We must assist with crossing the Generation Gap if we expect the youth of today to see us as anything but holdovers from a vanished Time. I have removed myself from the Rat-Race and try very hard to avoid reading political news. I am sure I am not alone in this whether young or old.
regards,
Painless
P.S. Who has a proper hat but few places to wear it anymore. ( The local Rodeo does not count )

That said you guys must remember that how we and those a little older then I am were raised quite differently then "kids" these days. You can not blame someone of something they were never taught. Patience gentlemen, patience.
