How to read those foreign sites

Post by capt midnight »

I've been frustrated by finding these cool sites with wonderful pictures, but I am most definitely not multi lingual. Stumbled across this and it is freaking fantastic, to say the least. Haven't found a site yet that it will not translate.

https://translate.google.com/

It will translate from any language to any language. If you're not sure what the original language is, it can also detect for itself. Just copy and past the site address into the box on the left, then the blue translate button on the right.

You can also right click and open pages in another tab and it will still translate, but it makes the header panel a bit smaller so you can see more of the page at a time.

Hope this helps some!

I realise that both you Bill and you Carl are in the USA so I do not know if you have ready access to "BING" but if you do, whenever you land on a Foreign language site just a click on your "Mouse" (Similar devises are available) brings up "Translate".
The site continues as normal just every thing is now in English instead, Brilliant

I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

'Bing' is the Microsoft equivalent of Google so I suspect that Americans probably do have access to it :-)

I use Google Chrome and that translates most web pages for me. As with most auto translators, you sometimes need to put it into proper English, but it is very good. You can use the settings facility to make it automatic.

Anyone know of a browser tool that translates Politician-speak into meaningful English? :D I would have said the same for Heng Long user manual instructions, except that i'm charmed by the innocence of 'put fluid in oiling hole.." and other such classics :D

I use BING all the time, but never realized that it had a translate feature. Have to try it out.

As for the Politician speak, if we had one we would have lost out on all the good ones, such as "I am not a crook", or "That depends on the definition of 'is' ". Just to name a few of the best American ones!
