Thanks, my Friend! The base has a piece of 6mm shot in it for weight with a brass circle left over from ABER parts as the base plate. It should look good painted.

Hi painless, all things tank have come to a sudden but hopefully brief halt at the moment, the wife and I bought a
caravan several weeks ago and many hours have been spent on that, cleaning/buffing the paint, fitted extra interior
electric sockets/led lighting, also been going through the remainder of my once large scalextric slot car collection
with the view of moving some more cars along.
The TD hasn't really moved on any further yet apart from fitting a tk24 and now using a flysky transmitter, the parts
from mato turned up but not fitted as yet.
The mato Sherman (plastic) has progressed a little also now has a tk24, hopefully back on track asap.

Ludwig, I do understand how Lifes chores get in front of things we would rather be doing like our shared Hobby here. Fixing up a Camper Trailer tho', that can be a lot of fun as well including the anticipation of trips taken in the thing once finished! I'll keep an eye peeled for future work pics on here. ;o) As for me today, nothing in the mail again. Working on paint and detail tonight, it seemed like the TD was breaking faster than I could get the work done. Pics:

Thank you! The mount is a production piece and the right scale for my knock together extinguisher. I'm waiting for some Schumo bits to finish the exterior of the TD. ;o)

Painless, I've been away for a bit visiting family and just now catching up here - and all I can say is wow! You sure have been busy making super progress The paint work looks excellent but your detailing work is taking this build to another level altogether. You're setting the bar real high here - I got serious work ahead to even keep up me thinks! Great detailing all round as I say, but that fire extinguisher and the mount are cracking - I think that you done better scratch building than could have been purchased frankly - top job sir!
Also, like you I'm look to go (mostly) top down (I.e roof off) but will leave the option to have on too (best of both worlds as they say. I think that in operations these M36's were run mostly that way in any case. From what I have seen the 'roof thing' seems to have become more popular with post-war upgrades - but of course everyone has there own vision too. Love the spare barrels and the .5o Cal mobile mount on front of the turret (where did you get it, btw).
I could have/should have warned you about the hatches too - when I first got mine they would open properly and I quite a time sorting them out. Not at all surprised one of yours come away, they are sort stuck on with silver gaffer tape as you no doubt know (at least mine were)!
Anyway keep up the great works, I'm following along as usual
