That Tamiya makes a reasonably priced tank and will make a new, new model in the next 10 years does that count?

I was under the impression for ages that the T34 series machines were reliable and fault-proof.
In actual fact they were not, but the shear numbers in service and high attrition meant that they were virtually replaced with new tanks before they even needed oil changes !(thats a generalisation of course)

Another illusion I was under was that tanks were remorselessly and repeatedly wiped out by tank busting aircraft almost to the exclusion of all other means !
The kill rate of air to ground direct attack was quite low in the grand scheme of things.
Tactical bombing, artillery, and anti-tank direct fire was much higher.
I would assume the indirect effect of these ground attacks would be on the supply & support system, rail, and usual fixed defence positions etc that did have a huge effect on the situation for tanks in combat.
Typhoons & Stumoviks got a lot, but not the most !!

You're killing me.. Now seriously, I do believe considering the model you get, the Tamiya is reasonably priced, look at the price of the resin Merkava for $750 and its not even ready for prime time let alone R/C...

Now I have to say your logic is spot on, Tamiya releases a new tank once every decade, whereas the other manufacturers release one when ever someone asks for a new tank---like every other day it seems..

I just like yanking your Tamiya chain! LOL! Tamiya pricing depends on the model you are after. Really when you have a spread of say a Sherman at $500 and they want $800 - 1000 for the new L70??? That logic mystifies me...

Metal turrets are better than plastic.

The problem with Metal Turrets is if they are mounted on an unsupported Plastic/ABS Tank Body the body can flex and FAIL!!
Although being a complete hypocrite I use metal turrets on all my Tanks.

Both "TOM HUGILL and 43RR are building some of his products right now and if Chris see's yet another niche with a demand he may be persuaded to offer the "Matilda11".
