I came across this post this evening as I have acquired a super smoker II from eBay for $4.50 plus $7.00 shipping. I figured for the price it's a no brainer.

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with these. I know all about Tarr smokers as I have several and they are incredibly reliable. It's the newest version and I figure if it's a dud I can reuse the circuit board and fan for something

I was hoping to not have the Chernobyl experience in one of my custom builds

Cheers

I can not recommend this smoker PERIOD! If you can't return it just keep a very close eye on it. My 2nd one died much the same as the first did it just took it longer.
The TARR smoker is clearly the best one I've found to date.

Thank you Jack. I will keep it for parts I got it so cheap...

So the second died as terribly as the first one? Just curios as I don't want to use it as of now

Looks a little different then mine did. But I'm gonna guess it's still just painted PVC pipe. The wires used to be black and red and the board used to be bigger. Not going to lie to you I have no idea about your version.

I would just issue a stern word of warning if you do choose to use it to be extremely careful! Any color smoke other then white SHUT IT OFF it may be melting down.

I wish you the best with it though!

Go into your own boards "Tips and tricks" page and build your own better smoker.
It's about 9 or 10 threads down.
Don't get your panties in a bunch , we still got hand weapons and the fifty!
