A sense of scale
Re: A sense of scale
I know this is crazy old but did the KV ever get completed?
Re: A sense of scale
Hey, funny that you should ask, after a long time dormant I have been working on it recently, new idlers and idler adjusters which give a long more stiffness, new gearboxes, 4 shaft with bearings all around and provisionally I've installed an ibu3. It took a lot of work but I've also rebuilt the mechanics of the turret so it has a proper machined alloy barrel with recoil, elevation and a hidden battle system in the top cupola.

Re: A sense of scale
Looks almost Jagdtiger size, so is the KV5 a paper one or were they actually built ?
Kind regards Andy

Re: A sense of scale
Paper I think - the move east as the Germans advanced may have been one of the factors.
How much wider than the KV2 is it? I've got the 1:35 kit at home for when I clear the (growing - blame Forgebear) backlog....

What calibre barrel was the main gun Mr Hugill ?
Sure would have made a fat target for Stuka's at that stage of the conflict !

AHHhhh...........only 107mm !
SU122 bigger
Jagdtiger by a literal long shot !!
One hell of an impressive, and rare tank mate, no doubt you will turn it into a Rembrandt
