Re: new tanker from Germany
Wow, amazing collection Karl.
I think I saw your Tiran 5 on Youtube. On your first message, you indicated you have a website. Can you provide the URL ?
Thanks, Louis

Re: new tanker from Germany
hello,
well, my commercial website is
http://www.tw-modelltechnik.de
Within the page "Projekte", there is detailled build thread about the M47 available for download. Sorry, it's written in German, but a lot of pictures are included.
I've just startet a thread about my new Tiran 5. This moment, I don't have enough time to continue the BTR-80. But as soon as I will continue, I will start a thread about it.
Thanx for looking

Interesting there are so many battlesites in Germany - and that you travel so far to some of them !
Great armour collection too.

Karl!,
Thank you for the photos, sir. ( and the website link ) Now a question? How do you protect all that beautiful scale stuff over the Winter? The walkways and scale bridges made out of stone and concrete I can see leaving out. The buildings tho' and the trees, etc? Please enlighten me. I am in the planning stages for a 40' x 40' little area of my own to dress up.
regards,
Painless

Tiggr,
They must be built like real houses. *chuckles* I can't imagine something built to such detail surviving a Winter out here.

Mr Painless
Some of my colleagues in the USA also have buildings like mine.
I have found the greatest threat to the buildings are household pets - cats where I am plus a dog once before the fence went up.
If you search G Scale buildings you should see a variety of choice.

Hello,
on our battlefields, the houses are placed on an base, what is fixed in the underground. After the battle, they are removed from the base and stored in a container or something like this. So there is no need for an excessive surface protection.

Re: new tanker from Germany
Good morning Gentlemen,
Thanks for the tips and explanations. I can see that anything intricate will be set up the day of the run session then stored away at night. ( Spring and Summer might not be so bad that Displays can be used at night ) I plan on having the area fenced away from the rest of the lot because of greyhounds, deer, elks, moose, sasquatches, etc...etc...
regards,
Painless
